Swedish SaaS company Orbi facilitates life on campus and offers a digital job board for companies seeking to hire university talent.
Elevera Advisers is pleased to have acted as exclusive financial advisor to Orbi (Ornamental Tree AB) on its $1.0M angel investment round.
Students’ general low usage of social apps like Facebook and LinkedIn has created a gap in the market for a dedicated campus app. Orbi provides universities, various societies, clubs, and students a central platform to plan and manage off as well as on-site events, including ticket sales, payments, and financial transactional overviews.
Orbi has already captured more than 50% of all universities in Sweden and is already used by students in other Nordic countries, with plans to conquer overseas markets as students’ life and demands are similar regardless of geographical location.
The company is leveraging this growing student user base towards companies looking to recruit educated Gen-Z talent, especially amid the megatrends of the post-Covid “Great Resignation” and a general global “Talent Gap” situation.
The Orbi Career module offers companies and organizations, from large enterprises to SMBs, the opportunity to showcase their job opportunities directly matched to students and their specific education and interest.
Since the launch of Orbi Career in late 2021, the Company has already signed 35 Swedish corporates onto the platform, including well-known brands such as IKEA, Epiroc, SCA, Arla, and Grant Thornton.
Orbi’s exponential growth will be fueled by this Seed round to consolidate its market-leading position in Sweden and expand to win the Nordic market by 2024. The Company will also invest in new and additional product developments to generate additional revenue streams.
Orbi is contemplating a Series A by the end of 2023 to reach additional international markets in European economies and, later, the US.
David Maars, Founder & CEO of Orbi, said, “We are delighted to welcome our new private angel investors, together with the continued support from existing investors during these challenging times for startups raising capital. This is hopefully a sign of our growing numbers, both on the fast-increasing number of students on the platform and the many new employer logos we are adding every month. Elevera Advisers supported our fundraising process from strategic market positioning to preparation and execution of the fundraise. We look forward to working with Elevera as we expand our business and prepare for a Series A round in 2023.”
Elevera Advisers' CEO & Founder, Thorgeir Einarsson, leading the process, concludes: "We are excited to be the exclusive adviser to Orbi. The team has done an incredible job creating the de-facto standard platform for all students in Sweden and securing a long list of flagship corporations' clients early after releasing the Orbi employer branding solution. We are looking forward to continuing to support Orbi reaching their next level of international growth to execute a Series A funding in 2023.”
